GROUNDED cut its dairy-free M*lkshake from 16 ounces to an 8.5 ounce carton and put it in every Sprouts store in the country. Same recipe, half the size, and a new competitive set: the candy bar, not the protein aisle. Nothing about the recipe changed. The package did all the moving. At 16 ounces, a protein shake lives in the fitness set and competes with other shakes. At 8.5 ounces, the same liquid reads as a snack, sized against the chocolate bar and the bag of chips, and GROUNDED says it out loud: it's tasty protein you throw in a bag. The carton is doing the repositioning work an ad campaign would usually carry. Format is the strategy here, and the strategy fits in a lunchbox.
GROUNDED launched 8.5 fl oz Pocket Protein M*lkshakes nationwide at all 490+ Sprouts Farmers Market stores on July 20, 2026, in M*lk Chocolate and Mint Choc Chip. Each dairy-free 250 ml carton has 10 grams of protein and 165 calories at $3.49, next to the brand's original 16 fl oz shakes.
Because the format does the repositioning. At 16 ounces the shake competes in the protein set. At 8.5 ounces the same recipe reads as an everyday snack against candy bars and chips, and the size change, not a redesign, moves the brand into that new occasion.
A production-real comp proves the design survives the shrink: the swirl panel, the stacked brand block, and the M*lk asterisk all have to read at the smaller face, and the chocolate and mint colorways have to stay distinct in-hand and across a cooler shelf, before the line commits to print.
