What is the Staff Accountant role at 3D Color?

It is a full-time, exempt finance position based in 3D Color’s Cincinnati, Ohio office, reporting to the CFO. The role owns accounts payable end to end, including vendor invoice processing, payments, expense review, vendor statement reconciliations and vendor records, and it participates in month-end and year-end close through AP accruals, prepaid expenses and account reconciliations.

Scope. At a large company an early-career accountant typically owns one narrow task for several years. At 3D Color the same person handles accounts payable and takes part in month-end close, so within the first year you see the full accounting cycle: transaction to entry, entry to reconciliation, reconciliation to closed month, closed month to financial statement.

What qualifications does 3D Color look for in a Staff Accountant?

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field is preferred, along with two or more years of accounting or accounts payable experience, working knowledge of GAAP, and strong Excel skills including formulas, lookups, PivotTables and data reconciliation. QuickBooks experience is a plus. The hiring manager screens hardest for attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
